Wardrobe Wednesday: Color Block

Some of you might have seen Kim Kardashian’s latest fashion blunder (if you haven’t you can see it here), but don’t let that deter you from jumping on the color block bandwagon. The color block trend is FAR from new but with the vibrant hues that are invading the runways & streets this season, there is so much we can do with the trend. Here are my favorite color block pieces —

Steps to master the color block trend:

1. Start off easy — The easiest way to master the color block trend when you’re a newbie is to pick up a color block dress. Done! Just make sure the hues work for your skin tone.

2. Pair separates — Since you’ve already bought your first color block dress, it’s time to step it up and pair seperates to achieve the look. Pair a bright hue with a nude hue. Once you’ve mastered this (successfully), try putting two bold colors together.

3. One step farther — Add one more color to your look.

4. Add accessories — Once you’ve got three colors going on and successfully mastered the color block trend, add a couple accessories. For example, if you’re rocking the bright yellow in your outfit, go with blue accessories. The color contrast will look great.

Great color combinations

Cobalt blue, yellow, orange

Chocolate brown, pink, peach

Purple, bright blue, teal

Deep blue, bright pink, white
